About the Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra: The Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra is a gathering of exceptional musicians from around the globe, all pursuing advanced studies in the graduate school of the Department of Music under the guidance of renowned performance faculty. Led by Executive Director Alan Kay, the orchestra has a rich history that dates back to its founding in 1969 by David Lawton.
